Tooling
Included in the price of the
skivers and hides is a choice of tooling, as illustrated below. These patterns are usually
block embossed in Gold, but sometimes blind tooling is more appropriate,
appearing black.
Unless you choose otherwise, your skiver will be supplied with a blind edge roll - again appearing black - as shown below as clamp. This will define the perimeter of your skiver, the selvage or waste being outside this mark. The edge roll enables you to trim the leather accurately.
